Asphodel is a fully on-chain game world built on Ethereum by the creators of Kamigotchi. Its first game release, Prologue, combines autobattler gameplay with roguelike mechanics and permadeath, similar to a mix of Pokémon and Teamfight Tactics. The game uses the native in-game token $ONYX for progression, entry fees, and rewards. During the public playtest, users can compete for a $3,333 USDC prize pool and earn a permanent on-chain item that carries into the mainnet release. The playtest runs on Ethereum’s Sepolia testnet, meaning no real ETH is needed. Players only need testnet ETH from faucets to participate.
